What is Macrame?
Macramé is believed to have been originated in the 13th century by Arab weavers. These artisans knotted the excess thread and yarn along the edges of handloomed fabrics into decorative fringes on bath towels, shawls, and veils. As we are working on cotton based material made into cords of various useable diameters, for example: 2mm, 4mm, 5mm & 6mm etc, for making decorative household items. It is this bohemian art of knotting these cords into decorative items.
